Batu Klotok Beach Bali Sacred Nuance

Today is a nice day to visit some beautiful place in Bali, I have a plan to explore about exotic temple in Bali. A long the road of bay pass Ida Bagus Mantra I was found amazing beach with a beautiful temple, namely Batu Klotok beach. Batu Klotok Beach has a magnificent panorama since it lies near Mount Agung. When you look afar ahead, you’ll sea range of trees that makes the beach look stunning. And when you look at the sea water, you’ll see as though it were a giant carpet spreading right in front of you. The beach also has exotic black sand and fine stones can be found along the beach. The beach looks more stunning with Pura Watu Temple standing next to the beach. The temple adds the greatness and exorcism to the beach. You shouldn’t any misconduct in this holy temple. Batu Klotok  name is taken from the term "Watu" which means stone, and "klotok" which means sound. So Watu klotok means stone that wheezes. Therefore it is said in this beach has rocks that can emit sound then this beach is named Klotok Watu beach.

Location of Batu Klotok

Batu Klotok Beach is situated in Banjar Celepik, Tojan Village, Klungkung Regency, Bali. It is about 5 km from Semarapura City and just need 60 from Ngurah Rai International airport. The access to the Batu Klotok beach is not difficult. You just need take the road of bypass of Ida Bagus Mantra. When you arrive at Tojan Village, turn right and follow the main road. There is a sign telling the direction to the beach, and therefore you don’t have to worry about getting lost. On your way to the beach, you can enjoy the beautiful and natural scenery. You can see Mount Agung Standing strong towards the beach. You can also feel the breeze of the clear and unpolluted air toward the beach. You will feel fresh even when you have not arrived to the beach yet.

What activities that you can find

Beside you can see a beautiful beach, there are you can find a lot of activities that will make you interested to explore this place . Most people around the beach live by making crafts like flower pots. The flower pot is made of fine gravel. People call it batu sikat, i.e. fine-sized stones derive from the beach. The crafts made by the people of the beach are unique. Hence, you can walk around and shop the crafts when you visit the beach. In addition, you can watch and enjoy the Melasti ceremony held by the people. The ceremony is very sacred, and therefore you should respect those involved in the ceremony.
Other than those two activities, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the beach. The beach is not too comfortable to swim or do any other water activities because there are many garbage in the water. The waves in this beach some time big, but I love this place to much.

Beach Facilities
  • There is available with large parkir area
  • Gazebo for rest
  • Toilet
  •  Local shop (warung) to sell drinks and food.

Baha Village

Bali has many cultural and tradition, today I would like to share a little information about a beautiful place that you can visit when you have travelling in Bali. Baha Village is located about 4-km east of Taman Ayun Temple, exactly in Mengwi district, Badung regency, is displays a similarity in angkul-angkul (entrance gates in the traditional Balinese style) to local houses like in other place in Bali. In the 1980s, this village was promoted as one of Badung tourism villages.

However, since 1998, the angkul-angkul in the village have seen a lot of changes, although some local people still maintain the authentic design.

Baha village is usually a stopover for tourists heading from Denpasar to Bedugul or Ubud, as it can be reached within an hour from Bali’s capital city.
Typical: A visiting photographer captures two different styles of traditional gates: the one on the left is of a residence and on the right is of the temple.Typical: A visiting photographer captures two different styles of traditional gates: the one on the left is of a residence and on the right is of the temple.

For most houses along the main road, the angkul-angkul still have a homogenous design. This can serve as a clue to help visitors know they are heading in the right direction to the village, in helpful addition to some signboards.

An angkul-angkul is usually 3 meters high and 1.5 meter wide, with a thatched roof. The local people believe that angkul-angkul can protect the house from evil spirits. Aside from its unique angkul-angkul, Baha village is worth exploring because some houses are open to visitors. To make sure tourists are entering the right houses, those who come without guides are advised to ask local people first.

These include the bale delod (south pavilion), the bale dauh (west pavilion), bale dangin (east pavilion), bale daja (north pavilion), bale gede (ceremonial pavilion), pawon (kitchen) and backyard.

Although visitors can enter the houses free of charge, it is better to give an amount of money to the owner. The village temple, located in the western part of the village, is also interesting to explore, especially for its candi bentar (split gate). Built in 1962, the gate shows unique traditional architecture and very detailed engraving.

Another entrance, located inside the temple, shows the statues of Balinese legendary characters husband and wife Men Brayut and Pan Brayut, each holding their children.

Legend has it that the couple had many children, so anyone also wishing to have many children is allowed to pray in the temple.

Pelaga Agro Tourism is Bali’s major agro tourism region, located around the hillsides of the Petang Village in the district of Pelaga, Badung regency, at 730 metres above sea level. The agro tourism site is easily reached with a two-hour drive, approximately 45km north of Denpasar, the provincial capital.

This region offers vast plantations, highlighting the agricultural processes of seeding, planting and harvesting of various varieties of flowers, fruits, and vegetables. With scenic hillsides, the region also offers a cooler highland climate that makes for a refreshing retreat from the sultry southern coasts.

The natural beauty of the region has been admired throughout time, marked by a guesthouse built during the Dutch occupation in Indonesia. The site was restored by the local government and continues to serve visitors. The agro tourism site covers an area of over 18Ha, with most of it comprising of plantations.

Unlike the common rice field irrigational systems, these plantations use drip irrigation that enables the constant, effective and efficient flow of water to the cultivated areas. There are also farms with poultry, cattle, and even fish ponds developed in the region .

Public facilities include parking spaces, dining venues and also accommodation as well as recreational facilities. Various activities that visitors can engage in include hiking throughout the plantation site and admiring the far vistas and close-up details of vegetables, fruits, flowers and farm animals.

Guided tours are also available and with the use of silent electrical buggies the guides explain the highlights along the routes. Cycling, bird watching, and also camping are other activities that can be enjoyed here. The region is home to a vast variety of exotic bird species. As a suitable destination for families, there is also a children’s playground.

Many companies hold outbound activities here. School students also camp here in our camping ground facilities.
During school holidays, local schools send their students to learn about farming and to learn to love nature.

Adult visitors use the site as a perfect place for yoga and meditation.

After spending time on active physical activities, visitors can enjoy a lazy afternoon at a small coffee and tea corner serving local Arabica coffee and tea boiled in a traditional fire place.

Spending a day at Bagus Agro will sooth your mind and enhance your physical fitness. “The best part of the visit is bringing home a bucket of lovely Holland roses, fresh strawberries and vegetables.” What a holiday!
